This can be fun. Get a strong magnet and a couple of dental picks. Spray the inside of the tumblers with WD40 to free things up. Open the lock door as best you can and try the magnet and the picks with the help of an assistant.Keep trying, when you start to pull your hair out, walk away , take a break, and try again. How do you unlock door when lock is stuck on?

i have a old buick park ave the back doors will not unlock the door will not open inside or out there is no place for a key they did not make them with a key hole help

Power locks? Either pull the fuse that controls them or disconnect the battery. You should be able to unlock them manually then. One of the switches is stuck possibly. If this works, you can disconnect the lock to the back doors and just lock them manually.

Why does my 2002 Mercury villager overheat with new thermostat from 2 weeks ago?

The most likely problem is an air pocket in the cooling system. A lot of newer cars can be difficult to bleed the air out of and Villager is one of them. I had replaced the water pump and thermostat on mine this past winter and had the same trouble. I cured it simply by running the engine at a high idle (1500 rpm) with the radiator cap off. Place a drain pan under the car to catch all the antifreeze that bubbles out as the air comes to the top. This procedure may take some time as you will be adding fluid when needed and then watching it bubble back out. Don't get discouraged, it will stabilize eventually.

Actually it's more likely that the thermostat was not the problem in the first place. Thermostats rarely cause problems. Either your coolant is low, your fan is not running, or you have internal or external clogging of the radiator or a/c condenser (which sits in front of it).

What is wrong when the emergency brake light comes on when braking sometimes on a Mercury Villager and it is getting worse?

Check brake fluid level--I believe both service and "e" brake use the same light. Low brake fluid could indicate leak (Need service NOW) or brake pads need replacing due to excessive wear Try engaging the brake all the way then releasing it. It might just be sticking. The ebrake sensor could be malfunctioning. It is usually located along the ebrake pedal somewhere. Hope this helps.

Where is the EGR valve located on a 2001 Mercury Sable - Taurus?

Do not replace the EGR valve until you have read through the "Related Questions" below and confirmed it really has failed.AnswerChanged the EGR valve on my 2000 Sable, it is located directly behind the upper intake manifold, toward the firewall. Will need a small metric for 2 bolts (10mm?) and a large crescent wrench with a short handle (must be able to open past 1"--I found one at Meijer for about $5) Not a bad idea to buy a small pack of anti-seize from Autozone for $1. Valve itself is around $70. If for some reason this doesn't turn off your check engine code 401, then replace the sensor which sits to the left of the valve itself ($90) Good luck! AnswerVery easy. Two bolts (#10 metric) to the manifold, and the other end screws onto a pipe that you that loosen.

It's on top of the engine near the windshield and looks like a small flying saucer.

FIRST LOOK ON LINE WHAT A 99 FORD TAURUS EGR VALVE LOOKS LIKE WILL HELP ALOT, BUT IT IS ON THE TOP AND REAR OF THE MANIFOLD BY THE FIREWALL IN THE MIDDLE, HELD ON BY TWO #10MM BOLTS AND A STEEL TUBE ASSY THAT GOES TO THE EXHAUST PIPE, REAL QUICK TO REMOVE,NOTE RUN MOTOR TO WARM UP EXHAUST PIPE TO MAKE THE STEEL TUBE HEX NUT EASY TO REMOVE

Follow the green plastic vacuum line from the EGR valve on your engine to a small black cplastic item, usually on the intake manifold. This will usually have one black and one green hard plastic vacuum line going to it. THIS is your solenoid.

egr locationUnderneath the hood on the back wall it looks like a spinning top or a little pot with a lid. The EGR switch is right next to it. The back of the engine is the sparks plugs and it is above that on the back wall. I have yet to get it fixed. Charlotte Vincent

IT IS LOCATED ON INTAKEMANIFOLD

I checked Autozone.com and they didnt have the location. BUT, an EGR valve is normally attached to the intake manifold with a hose/tube connecting it to the exhaust manifold. It seems it would also be attached to the solenoid that you replaced.

Where is the temperature sending unit on the motor of a 98 Mercury Villager and what color is it?

How do you test fuel pump on 2000 mercury villager?

if your car has a fuel rail under the hood, remove the cap at the end of it. It should look like a tire valve stem. push the nozzle in. Fuel should come out of it. If no fuel comes out, then you have a bad fuel pump.
