Bears mark their territory so other bears know to keep away. It is very important so the bears can survive and have enough food for the winter hibernation. It is also important so that other bears can tell if it's male or female, strong or weak so they can tell to stay away or invade.

If Grizzly bears can run faster than 40mph, then they're faster than race horse.

There is a wide variety of bears on the market today. In the last several years bears have become increasingly affordable to the average consumer. You first need to ask yourself what kind of bear you are looking to buy. You can choose from the black bear, the brown bear, the kodiak bear, the sun bear or the ever popular polar bear. If you are considering buying a more endangered species like the polar or the kodiak bear then you are going to need to look more into the black market, and that could cost you. For example, when i bought my kodiak bear back in 02 i had to deal with some sketchy characters that ended up (for lack of a better term) screwed me. I ended up paying 57,000 USD. This ended up being a big mistake because i could have gotten a female (the more preferable of the genders) for only 51,500 USD. More recently, I have just made a fantastic purchase of a female brown bear for 25,000 USD that i play with on a nearly daily basis. When buying a bear you have to know that it is NOT just the original cost of the bear, but the other things you need to buy. Like food for example, you need to have at least fifty pounds of beets on hand at all times because bear do in fact eat beets. All of these costs add up and you need to have the funds to support it.

But in the end, if you have to ask how much a bear costs, you cant afford it.

Grizzlies and Black Bears use their claws as an adaptation to hunt, climb and dig.

grizzlies also have a very good smell to get to their prey as well as having a hump of muscle on their back for running and digging and a keen sense of smell for tracking prey.

Grizzly Bears in particular have specially adapted claws that are longer & have less arch than a black Bear's claws, they are adapted for digging, tearing apart fallen trees & overturning rocks; along with theses unique digging claws the grizzly has a muscular hump that provides tremendous strength & power to its front limbs.

Black Bears have shorter claws that are more hooked, they are specially adapted for climbing.

On April 17, 1923 the governor of Montana signed the contract of the grizzly bear becoming the state animal.

It depends on where you live. I'm from Maryland and it usually runs me about $3. Generally cheaper the farther south you go and more expensive the farther north you go. However, I bought it for about $1.50 a few years ago in North Carolina and about $2.00 a couple weeks ago in North Carolina.

A polar bear makes sounds like an angry elephant.

Polar bears make a number of different sounds.

When it's angry it makes a low growl when it wants to warn something off. They will also hiss and snort when angry and challenging another bear. When they are angry they make roaring sounds and growl. Their roar does in fact sound like an elephant's roar.

Mother polar bears have a different set of sounds when communicating with their cubs - they will let out a low growl when disciplining their young. They'll also cuff their cubs with a big paw to let them know they've done something wrong.

If the bear is in distress and upset it makes chuffing sounds.

Mountain lion, or African lion? North American Mountain lions are smaller than African lions. It's doubtful a N. Am Mountain Lion could kill a full grown grizzly. Any full grown lion could kill a grizzly cub bear though.

Pandas are black and white and smaller bears, grizzlies are brown with grizzled grey hair, much larger and have a defined hump over their shoulders. Pandas are found primarily in zoos and native to China; grizzlies are found primarily in North America.

It depends on where they live. Grizzlies in Russia can weigh almost 1 ton. Yellowstone grizzlies weigh between 400 and 700 pounds.
