What makes the rpm decrease after a shift has occurred?

The RPM decreases after a shift because the engine is no longer under heavy load from accelerating in the previous gear. When you shift, the transmission momentarily disconnects the engine's power from the wheels, causing the RPM to drop as the engine adjusts to the new gear ratio.

How are the 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokees v6 2wd?

It depends on the model, I guess. I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It's gear box has 5 settings: 2WD, Part-time 4WD, Full Time 4WD, Neutral, and 4WD Low. The forward most setting, the one where the gear handle sits flat, is 2WD. On the small diagram on the console, you will see that only the rear wheels show green if it is in 2WD. Pulling straight up on the lever while the main shift lever is in neutral will put you in part-time 4WD. If you want full-time 4WD, you must push the lever to the right from this point and pull back to find 4 Hi. For 4 low, you pull back again, then to the left, then back again.

Sugar in the gas tank?

First off, it is a myth that sugar will ruin an engine. Sugar will not dissolve in gasoline. It may clog the fuel filter or possibly the injectors, but it will not ruin your engine. If very little sugar was poured into the tank, then just change the filter maybe a few times and drive on. If lots of sugar was added, you may need to remove the tank and flush it out, replace the filter, and flush the fuel lines.

After jump starting my 2002 Grand Prix GTP the radio doesnt work anymore.. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

This is really simple to do on your own. 1. First, press and hold presets two and three for a few seconds. Three digits will come up on the display. These are the first three digits of the factory unlock code. 2. Press the AM/FM button on the unit and another three-digit number will read out. These are the last three digits of your code. 3. Call 1-800-537-5140. You'll be asked for a dealer code, 139010, 206053 and 620529 may work. Enter this number and then press the pound (#) button. 4. Now enter the six-digit code that you got from your stereo, first three digits first, then the last three. You will be given a four-digit response code. Make note. 5. In your car, hit the HR button and put in the first two digits of the response code. Then press the MIN button and put in the last two digits of your response code. Press AM/FM and then SEC should read out on your radio. 6. You should be unlocked! I found this on another site. It worked for me. So Im answering my own question. :)

Why would the RPM go up and down in a 97 Mercury Mystique?

This happened to me today on a major highway. The Ford garage told me it is a transmission problem. Check transmission problem solutions here in this blog. Solenoids, etc. It means your transmission is slipping, that happens in a lot of mercury mystiques. not all true there is a throttle position sensor or T.P.S. on your throttlebody try that its way cheaper than transmission

How often do you have to change the oil in supercharged 2002 Grand Prix GTP?

I believe you are asking about changing the supercharger oil. The dealer has no specification/requirement to change the oil. However many people change this oil on a yearly basis. You will need to pump/suck the oil out and replace it with GM supercharger oil only. ( a turkey baster or a spray pump is a good DIY device for this task) For step by step instructions check out the following website. http://www.oqcgp.com/forum/kb.php?mode4 Hope this helps "G" Currently this is the link for above procedure: http://www.oqcgp.com/forum/kb.php?mode=article&k=4&highlight=supercharger Happy oiling! Where is the turn signal flasher located in 1995 holiday rambler RV?

RV manufacturers usually locate the flasher under the dash near the steering column. The easiest way to find it is to turn on the turn signal and listen for the click. You will also feel it click when you touch it. If the flasher is not working or does not click, turn on the four-way flashers and try to find that flasher. The turn signal flasher is usually located near it.

Hope this helps.

How do you remove the rear speaker covers to change the speakers in a 99 grand prix gt?

See Related LinksSee the Related Link for "Replacing stock speakers" to the bottom for the answer. AnswerYou will need to remove the back seat in order to remove the back dash and this will allow you to remove the back speaker covers.

I just did the speakers this past weekend in a 2001 Grand Prix and am pretty sure it is the same. Take the lower part of the seat bench out first. There are two plastic loops at the base of the seat that release the seat, while holding the loops with outward pressure, just pull the seat bottom up and out. The seat back is removed by removing the two large nuts that hold the seat belts (If I remember right they were about 17mm). There are two other nuts on either side that use 10mm that need to be removed. Once the four nuts are removed, lift the seat back straight up to unhook the four hooks that hold the seat back in place. After removing seat back the two interior plastic retainers need to be pulled out to get the rear deck/speaker grills removed.

Once you are down to the speakers they can be removed by removing the four screws with a 1/4 inch socket wrench. Carefully lift the speakers out as they are still connected to the wiring harness. Lift the speaker up just enough to disconnect the plastic wire retainers from the speakers. (If there is not enough slack in the wire to do this from up top, they can be disconnected from inside the trunk.) Cut the plastic clips off leaving as much wire as possible. Either strip the wire ends and crimp new ends on or splice the new harness in.

GMs color coding for Positive and Negative is less than intuitive!! Here it is:

Right Rear speaker:

(+) Dark Blue

(-) Light Blue

Left Rear speaker:

(+) Brown

(-) Yellow

Good luck. I put Clarion SRG6921R and am very happy with them. Even though the tweeter protrudes quite a bit there is still plenty of clearance. For the price and if you are not running an amp they can't be beat!

Where do you add freon on a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix?

I have a '92 model that has the ports just under and behind the air filter box. Look for the one with a BLUE plastic cap. leave the RED one alone.
