A rainbow dragon looks magnificent, especially by a sun dragon. It breathes rainbow stars and gives a lot of money. Mix something that has 48 hours and expect it to be either sun, moon, or a rainbow dragon.
How do you breed a double rainbow dragon?
The most effective method to breed your first rainbow dragon is Firefly + Seaweed. There is about a 10% success rate. The breeding will take 48 hours and the hatching will take another 48 hours. The egg will have rainbow stripes.
The level, time of day, or which side the dragons are on does not have any effect on the final result.
Some other combinations are:
- Snow + Firefly = 8% chance
- Lava + Seaweed = 8% chance
- Blue Fire + Crystal = 8% chance
- Flower + Storm = 7% chance
- Crystal + Blue Fire = 6% chance

Note, in order for you to breed a rainbow dragon, you must have 4 different elements in the equation so combinations such as air and blazing (equation only has 2 elements fire and air) will not work.
The rainbow dragon may also be purchased in the market for 2,500 gems.

How do you get the gemstone ISLAND dragon vale?
You simply buy the breeding cave and select the two dragons you want to breed to try for a gemstone dragon. The only one out right now is the pearl dragonbirthstone, pearl), but to breed it you need the snow and seaweed dragons to put in the breeding cave. Also, you can buy gemstone dragons on the store for different gem amounts. The Pearl dragon can be bought for 1,475 gems. You have to get to a certain level to be able to get it though, although I don't know what that level is. I read that you have to be level 17 but I am currently a level 15 DragonVale player and the Pearl dragon is in the store available for me to buy.
