As humans championed their rights, overthrew Kings' divine rights, and began experiencing rural-urban shifts, rising industralism, and expansion of enlightenment thinking--that science could answer everything--Auguste Comte proposed the need for sociology to study the structure of human social organization--i.e., society. Nearly a hundred years later, in America, during similar times at the turn of the century, social changes and ensuant problems led to sociology's rise here.
