The primary goal of a society, of any individual society, is to sustain that society. No society exists in order that it may eradicate itself or purposefully allow itself to be destroyed. If the society does not try to perpetuate itself and continue to exist, nothing else that makes the society important to its citizens - its members - can be accomplished.

The primary goal of sociology is to study and understand society, including its structures, institutions, and interactions among individuals. It aims to analyze social patterns and processes to gain insights into how society functions and how individuals are shaped by their social environment.
