We, as a community have an idea of what category we would put people of different professions in. At the top of this list would be lawyers and doctors, simply because they have higher managerial and professional occupations. Next to the tope of the list would be teachers and police officers, because they have a lower managerial and professional occupations compared to the people in the top bracket. Still higher up in the social class would be people like fire fighters and airline cabin crew, because they have intermediate occupations. People such as hair dressers and shop owners would be classed the higher intimidate bracket, because they would have small employers and own-account workers. Train drivers and supervisors would be classed as part of the lower intimidate bracket because they have lower supervisory and technical occupations. Security guards and postal workers would be placed high up in the lower social class because they have semi-routine occupations. second to the bottom bracket, would consist of people like bus drivers and cleaners because they have routine occupations and at the bottom of the social class bracket would be people such as students and people not classifiable because they have never worked or are long-term unemployed.
