One in a ridiculously large number. Only people with extremely weak immune systems (which can be caused by HIV, AIDS etc.) will die from it, and even then only very rarely.

The common cold is usually a mild, self-limiting illness with a low mortality rate, especially in healthy individuals. However, complications can occur in certain groups such as young children, older adults, or individuals with weakened immune systems. Most people recover from the common cold within 7-10 days.

"One in a ridiculously large number" is in itself a ridiculous response to a valid question. There is scant information or reliable statistics regarding deaths from the numerous viruses that cause the "common cold" but given the complications that result from the rhinovirus and others, it's definitely significant enough to warrant more study.
