Same sex marriage is not legally recognized in Florida. However, in Tampa (part of Hillsborough county), there is a domestic partner's registry. Although the registry does not grant full legal marital rights, it does allow the couple the ability to make health care decisions for each other, visit each other in the hospital if one cannot voice that they want their partner there, make education decisions for a partners child, and a few other legal rights. Both partners must bring photo ID, such as a driver's license, and there is a $30 registration fee.
