Lets look at a small subset of all waste produced in the world, American household garbage.

* In 2001 this was 409 million tons a year. It has increased since then. * Cost to put 1 pound to low earth orbit (a cheap ride as compared to boosting it to the sun) was $10,000. * Assuming one could find enough rockets and fuel and launch pads and staff this would imply a cost of at least 409,000,000 tons x 2,000 lb/ton x 10,000 $/lb =$8,180,000,000,000,000 a year (8,180 trillion dollars a year). * Just for this small part of the American trash numbers every citizen would have to pay over 25 million dollars ($25,000,000) a year in extra taxes.

But that would be of small concern if the addition of all that trash upset the sun ... but then nobody would be here to care.
