To counteract acidity you add alkaline. To counteract alkalinity you add acid. It depends on what type of item you are dealing with. If you are around people, you would use a weak alkaline like baking soda. You would use a weak acid like vinegar.

What is acidity and alkalinity in H30 and OH?

In aqueous solutions, acidity refers to the concentration of H3O+ ions, which are formed when water molecules accept a proton (H+). Alkalinity refers to the concentration of OH- ions, which are formed when water molecules donate a proton. Acidity and alkalinity are measured on the pH scale, with pH values below 7 indicating acidity and values above 7 indicating alkalinity.

What would happen if you mixed a acidic substance with a basic substance?

The acidity and alkalinity would begin to cancel each other out. I only recommend using a small amount of a weak base or acid to counteract each other because a strong acid and base will cancel out faster, but very violently.
