Having been through one just recently. Cyber-affairs will destroy trust at bare minimum. 14 years of ups and downs but always trusting, destroyed in less than 2 months. Cyber-affairs are emotional affairs and always done out of lack of something other than intimate contact. Also I read recently that women are more prone to carry the cyber-affair into the physical realm. Cyber-affairs can also be easier to hide, but easier to detect if you are tech savy and purchase a key-logger which will log every keystroke from login to logoff and also takes screen shots every second if you set it that way. Even cell texts can be monitored with the right software package. There is a package out there that will log all texts(SMS) and travel history. It's costly but, less costly than loss of your marriage or divorce attorneys. So yes they can do as much or more damage than physical affairs because the damage is more emotional than a physical affair.
