What impact disaster have the people and society?

When a society has a disaster that effects the community as a whole, like a hurricane, you see the people bonding and rally together to overcome the disaster and rebuild, the community then becomes a stronger unit together.

Societies may encounter two types of disasters, one are those that are classified as natural disasters and the other are social ones such as riots. I'll talk about the natural disasters in the USA. It should be noted however that the impact in the USA is often similar to the impact in other countries.

In the United States there have been a number of devastating natural disasters within the last twelve months. Large forest fires and fierce hurricanes have a tremendous negative affect on US society. Recent forest fires in Arizona as example have had a terrible impact on the nations natural forests. Thousands of acres have been destroyed, resulting loss of life and property. The environment is also impacted as the loss of trees and the animals that live in the forests have lost their natural habitat.

Large hurricanes last year on the US east coast had a terrible impact on lives lost, property & homes destroyed and the destruction of sandy beaches. There is also an immeasurable economic loss involved in restoring homes, the loss of business income and homeless residents.
