The Salvation Army has a well-organised disaster response, both on a local level and internationally. Good examples to search for in recent years are the Haiti disaster response - The Salvation Army were the first boots on the ground after that one - the Australian fires, and most of the destructive storms that hit the USA in recent years. They also work closely with the emergency services in many countries, providing support to police, firemen, and medical staff who are dealing with the victims of those disasters.
