The possibility of spreading AIDS is no different for gay people than it is for straight people. If the infected bodily fluids of one person get inside another person's body, the virus can be transmitted. The two main ways of spreading the HIV virus that causes AIDS are:

  • unprotected sex (straight or gay)
  • sharing of syringes

HIV doesn't "start" in gay people. It is a virus that spreads through any exchange of body fluids, regardless of sexual orientation. Someone must already have the virus in order to spread it. It doesn't spontaneously get created from gay people.

Only a minority of gay people have AIDS. AIDS is a disease EVERYONE has to worry about. AIDS is NOT a gay disease. Women can pass it on to women, men can give it to women, men can give it to men. Sex is NOT the only way to transmit the disease. It doesn't matter if you're straight, gay, bi, lesbian, transgendered, WHATEVER. YOU are still at risk for AIDS.
