While no church itself 'joined', traditionally Protestant churches supported the Klan, even allowing members to come into the church, make a public donation in the name of the Klan, then the preached urged members to join or support the Klan. Preaches of such churches were often given officer positions within the local Klavern (chapter) with the title of Kludd, or religious officer.
the ku klux klan was a really racist group of sick minded people. There is actually a song about them that goes to the tune of Iron Man describing just how they went about things and how they thought about themselves and what they were like. Its quite racist, and im not racist but my friend kept singing this song and it got stuck in my head, but it really describes quite well what they were like: I am grand wizard man, Born leader of the Ku Klux Klan, I wear pointy hats, Killing f r i e k i n g n i g g e r s with baseball bats. Infact the Ku Klux Klan are still around in parts of America today and they will still kill black people if they can get away with it but there arent many left today, especially compared to the numbers that used to make up the KKK.
Women were attracted to the KKK if they supported what the Klan was advocating. The women's auxiliary was called the Women of the Ku Klux Klan (WKKK). A major leader of the WKKK was Daisy Douglas Barr, who was also a leader in the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU). uhh, what are you talking about? That question didn't make sence and your communication skill's in your question make's it hard to understand. im a white older women who is not supporting the ku klux klan and their stupid beliefs about race. Ugh,they make me sick and why would i? just because im old school doesn't mean i have hate inside me. c'mon,be reaosnable. I know it's just a question. but, some white women weren't.
On 24 December 1865, in Pulaski, Tennessee, six ex-Confederates got together to form a social, fraternal organization. Someone suggested they call it Kuklid, from the Greek word Kuklos which means circle. They decided upon Ku Klux and it appears they just added Klan to the end of it to indicate it was a family-like organization. There is a link below.
Yes
The Ku Klux Klan and other hate groups used violence and intimidation to keep Blacks from voting or participating in the social and political aspects of the Reconstruct Era and beyond. They caused many deaths and despite laws against their activities they remained a threat to freedom and well being of all citizens in the South that were trying to make a new start after the war. The Klan burned down Black churches, lynched Blacks with no real cause other than hate, and intimidated white people who did not agree with their violence.
They make snapple judgements.
Snapple owns the recipe
They would try to scare them back to going in to slavery and make them go back to their old masters. They used violence and harassment to scare people. They are even around today and try to portray them selves as being scary....
