Freemasonry is not a religion, and does not limit it's membership to any specific religions. However, it does require that a member have a belief in a Supreme Being.
Beliefs of the freemasons do tend to be against the teachings of the Bible. Instead of believing in the one True and Living God, Freemasons must vow allegiance to a "Supreme Being", which may includes the "gods" of any world religion.
Freemasons worship a god that they call the Great Architect of the Universe. They must believe in a monotheistic Supreme Being, but other characteristics are up to individual interpretation.
Alferdteen Harrison has written: 'A history of the Most Worshipful Stringer Grand Lodge' -- subject(s): Freemasons, Freemasons. Mississippi, Freemasons. United States. Scottish Rite. National Supreme Council. (Negro)
All Masons believe that there is a Supreme Being or single god. However there is no restrictions in most Grand Lodges on the particular manifestation of that belief, so Masons can be and are Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, Hindus or believers in some unorganized faith.
The all seeing eye is the most known symbol for the supreme being. This would make the all seeing eye a good tattoo concept to represent the supreme being.
Not all of them
No
Freemasonry is not a religion but it certainly does acknowledge the existence of a "supreme being" and this is certainly not the Antichrist, Devil or Satan. In point of fact, the vast majority of Freemasons identify themselves as Christians.
Adonai, Elohim, Jehovah, all are names for God, the Christian faith's 'supreme being'.
The Freemasons are a society that originated in the Middle Ages. They are called 'free' because they had obtained journeyman's papers and so they could travel freely wherever they wanted in search of work. Today, not all masons are called freemasons and not all freemasons are actually masons by trade.
A primary requirement of any man who wishes to become a regular Freemason is that he believes in a Supreme Being. There is no Masonic "doctrine" or "dogma" that states that as a Freemason we must worship an entity known as "The Devil".
