The Scout troop operates according to a set of 12 core values; including honesty, kindness, and courteousness; and a leader not exhibiting these values may be reprimanded or removed. While Scout troops strive to be "boy lead" there is adult supervision to help guide and advise them and, at times, enforce the rules. Scout leadership, whether adult or youth, is a service position with the goal being to enrich others, not oneself.
