Yes. Every territory (in the free world) has one or more Grand Lodges which regulate and control Freemasonry. Each Grand Lodge is totally independent of every other Grand Lodge. In the USA there are around 100 or so Grand Lodges. Some of these are known as "Prince Hall" Grand Lodges [PH GLs]: they were established for Afro-American freemasons in the era of US history when Afro-Americans were not accepted (or at least not often accepted) into the "caucasian" Grand Lodge system. In recent years, many PH GLs and non-PH GLs have recognised each other.Unlike the USA, there has never been a race issue within the British Grand Lodges. The result is that Prince Hall GLs are unknown outside the USA or places where the USA has extended a masonic influence. In addition, there are many "irregular" brands of freemasonry and pseudo-masonry in the USA. Canada has a mixture of mostly British derived Freemasonry with some Lodges working to the USA type rituals (both PH & non-PH). Most totalitarian states have outlawed Freemasonry, these have included over time: * nazi / fascist/ falangist and communist dictatorships, * extreme theocratic dictatorships, and * various absolute monarchies and personal "Presidential" dictatorships During the Spanish civil war, the Falangists of General Franco murdered many Freemasons, forcing some to dig their own graves first. In the 2nd world war, the Nazis murdered many European freemasons and imprisoned others in concentration camps along with the Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals and political dissidents.
Yes, Freemasons do exist. Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that traces its roots back to the medieval stonemason guilds and it has been active for centuries. It is an initiatory society that promotes personal development, moral principles, and social philanthropy. Freemasonry is a worldwide organization with lodges in many countries.
No, Freemasons didn't exist yet
The biggest difference is that the Freemasons exist and the Illuminati no longer does. As I understand it, for the short nine years the Illuminati did exist, not only did it resemble the Freemason organization, many Illuminati members in Ingolstadt, Bavaria were also Freemasons and members of other secret societies.
No. While some Freemasons were briefly associate with the Order of Illuminati when that organization existed, when the Duke of Bavaria disbanded the Illuminati in 1785, those who were part of that organization quickly scattered and disavowed any association. Some writers of fiction and purveyors of conspiracy theories still like to draw connections, but there is none other than those manufactured in the imaginations of the paranoid.
A Freemason is a member of the secret society that is composed of craftsmen, such as stone masons, gem cutters, blacksmiths, and goldsmiths, and began in Medieval Europe. A few US presidents have been a member of the Freemasons and still exist today.

No. The Masons have no interest in such, and the Illuminati does not exist.
There are still Freemasons in the world. Each year they actively gain more members.
No, the Freemasons have been soldiers of God since before the crusades and still protect artifacts like the Holy Grail
