Being able to use a power tool on any job site and at any location is extremely important for some people. To be able to do this, cordless tools are best. With cordless tools, it is wise to have ones that will all take the same battery pack. This will be most convenient. Many companies will offer one type of battery for all of their tools. Having extra batteries will be useful when away from the shop and the power runs out. Finally, the recommendations of the manufacturer should be followed when it comes to the charging of the batteries.
I have a cordless drill, a sabre saw, an angle grinder and a small rotary saw. All work off the same type of battery.
You have to be careful, but as a general rule the manufacturer only builds one type of battery.Of course they usually make batteries of different ratings.Nearly all of them will sell you sets with multiple tools using the same type of battery.
If you have a charger just leave it in the charger.
to give it power
From my experience I had no issues storing power tools in my shed/garage. the only problem I had was when I stored the power tool with battery attached.. The best thing to do is have batteries in a normal condition enviroment, something about the cold messes with the battery life/memory!
