about $30 maybe even $50. The 18 carats means that the gold element of the ring is 18 parts out of 24 gold, which is quite valuable. However, electroplated means that there is a thin layer of gold on the surface of other cheap metals to make up the ring. Electroplate involves very little gold.

It depends on what the plating is over. If its over Silver its worth a little more. Electroplating is an inexpensive process. Electorplating does not last long, and will rub off within weeks and reveal the alloy underneath. I wouldn't want to pay alot for any ring that has been electroplated.

Sorry but, no. The electroplating is very thin and virtually worthless.

Is 24 karat or 18 karat more valuable?

24 karat gold is more valuable than 18 karat gold because it is purer, with a higher gold content (99.9% pure gold compared to 75% in 18 karat gold). However, 18 karat gold is more durable due to the alloy metals mixed with the gold.
