The simplest way is probably through eBay. You should know before you start, however, whether any of the coins have great numismatic or metal value. If the former, you may wish to have individual coins looked at in a reputable coin shop; if the latter, a coin shop or jewelry shop can probably buy gold or silver "junk" coins from you (note that for US pre-1964 silver coins, which are 90% silver, you should probably be offered a discount of no more than 5% off of the silver value - for foreign silver, even old British sterling silver (92.5% silver), the discount may be 25% or more off of the silver value).
In any case, you may still elect to sell online.
For "junk" foreign silver, you are probably more likely to get a price close to the "melt" value online than in a shop, but you must make sure to describe and show the coins (and silver content) properly.
For other random low value foreign coins, you should probably try to take one or more photos that show as many of the coins with as much detail as possible. Realize though that people are goin to be bidding based on imperfect information, so you are unlikely to get much more than US$5-US$7 per pound of coins in this scenario.
For higher value individual coins, photograph and describe them as well as you can. Depending one who happens to be looking and bidding, you may get more than what a shop would offer (they, afterall, need to build in room for a mark-up), but you may get less. Put as many good descriptives into the description to ensure it is caught in as many searches as possible, and spell things properly (your "Deutche Mark" will not show up if someone searches for a "Deutsche Mark")
Coins can be sold on ebay online or to a coin collector.
Online, Ebay. Or you could try the local coin shop, dealers often buy coins.
It depends on the type of foreign coins. If you have a rare coin and want to donate it to charity, it would most likely be best for you to sell the coin and then give the money to them because far too often charities don't understand how much those coins are worth and will sell them for very low prices. If they are common coins, you might want to try thrift shops and such. However, what I would suggest if there isn't a charity that you for sure want the coins to go to, would be to give it to a child who shows interest in coin collecting. Even foreign coins that are essentially worthless will spark a kid's interest and imagination.
If you refer to current coins you brought home from an overseas trip, very few Currency Exchangers will exchange coins. Banknotes can be exchanged by Currency Exchangers if the currency is traded on the market.
You can easily sell these at your local coin shop or on an online auction site such as ebay.
Foreign coins usually cannot be used in other countries. You can cash in foreign coins, but you usually only get a fraction of the value when you do.
