If eating and food are things we need to watch, to keep from putting "junk" in our mouths, then we should also "watch" or be careful of the things we put into our minds through our eyes. A reading diet so to speak. So a good reading diet would be: Avoiding books or things that would be consider "junk food" for the mind. Reading those things that are helpful to build up the mind and help it "grow". The Bible would be good to add to the list, for it is food for the brain and the soul. Even a good diet book would be helpful for both the mind and body. So the best reading diet would be reading those things that help not only the brain but the body, mind and spirit. The whole person as it were.
Reading helps you get a better understanding of what you are learning. It gives you visuals in the mind and this will help you remember better. When reading it is good to jot down points so that you can read the points again and make them visual in your mind as well
