zoonoses are a group of diseases that are naturally transmitted from animals to man. They are over 200 in number and the list is increasing. MAD DOG DISEASE CALLED RABIES, PIG BORN BRAIN FEVER, GOAT BORN BRUCELLOSIS, SHEEP BORN Q FEVER, BIRD FLU. SWINE FLU, PLAGUE ARE FEW EXAMPLES. There is very little awareness among doctors and public about these diseases . These diseases have to be controlled in the veterinary profession and treated in medical profession.

Infections that are transmitted from animals to humans are called zoonoses. Some zoonoses may be transferred through casual contact, but others are much more readily transferred by activities that expose humans to the semen, vaginal fluids, urine, saliva, fecesand blood of animals. Examples of zoonoses are Brucellosis, Q fever, leptospirosis, and toxocariasis. Therefore sexual activity with animals is, in some instances, a high risk activity. Allergic reactions to animal semen may occur, including anaphylaxis. Bites and other trauma from penetration or trampling may occur.

Answer:Yes, you can, because they can give you rabies and you can die. Answer:There are several different kinds of bacteria and viruses you can catch from handling or living with wild animals. Diseases can range anywhere from leptospirosis to west nile virus. You can also develop serious illnesses from parasites contracted from wild animals -- some examples of these are lymes disease, toxoplasmosis, and "the plague." These are known as zoonoses, or zoonotic diseases. http://www.who.int/zoonoses/en/

Answer:

Yes, you can get sick from ticks and fleas that are found on certain animals and rodents. Lyme disease is from a the bite of a tick that lives on some kinds of deer and a specific tick or flea that is found on wild rats or mice can give you bubonic plague.

Of course you can.Animals carry many diseases, some of them we ourselves havent discovered yet.So make sure you stay away from wild animals not only for your safety but also for your health.(NEVER GO NEAR RODENTS!).

It can be. A zoonosis is a disease carried by animals that people can get. If your work exposes you to these, that would be an occupational hazard. For instance, a telephone repairman may have to open telephone "pedestals" for connections. Mice may use these for nesting. There is an airgorne viral disease transmitted through mouse urine- if it is present in that area, the repairman could be exposed. A land surveyor may walk through grassy and brushy areas, and be exposed to being bitten by ticks that can carry Lyme disease. A leather worker could be exposed to anthrax on leather from a cow that had anthrax.

Zoonoses refer to infectious animal diseases that are communicable to humans. The infectious agents can be protozoal, fungal, bacterial, chlamydial or viral.

It is important to note, that such diseases are uncommon enough that they should not discourage bird-keeping.

Chlamydiosis, salmonellosis, arizonosis, and colibacillosis are the most common of these infections. Chlamydiosis, salmonellosis, eastern equine encephalitis and avian tuberculosis may be serious and even life- threatening.

If you have persistent flu-like symptoms when no one else you know is affected, see a doctor and mention that you raise birds. Such symptoms may be indicative of a disease spread from birds to humans.

Answer yes, they can share diseasesI think there are definitely some that they can share, although there are some that are just for cats and some just for dogs. To be sure, you would need to check with a qualified Vet.

These diseases are rare, but they still happen. Diseases given to humans by animals or animal products are called Zoonotic Diseases or Zoonoses.

One is Listeriosis, and I don't know all that much about it.

Then there is Tuberculosis too.

Another is Brucellosis, and unfortunately I know too much about it. I got ill with it in 1996, and am still sick enough to have to use a wheelchair most days.

These bacteria are mostly in unpasteurised milk and only in certain parts of the world. Milk safety has improved enormously since compulsory vaccination and testing of cattle.

Then there are allergies and intolerances, but they are familiar to most people.

In general, no - most canine diseases are specific to canines. However, there are a few diseases that dogs can transmit to humans, and these are called zoonoses. The most commonly recognized zoonosis is rabies, but other diseases including hookworms and roundworms can also be passed from dogs to humans.

Dogs can potentially get diseases from humans such as the flu, COVID-19, and some skin conditions like ringworm if there is close contact and exposure to pathogens. It is rare for diseases to transfer between humans and dogs, but caution should still be taken to prevent transmission.

In general no, although there are some instances of reverse zoonoses. Probably the most concerning one is MRSA, or methicillin-resistent Staphylococcus aureus, a nasty skin and nose infection that can be extremely difficult to treat. An infected human can pass that infection on to the family dogs, or cats.

Animal diseases that people can catch are called zoonoses. About 75 percent of the new diseases affecting humans in the past decade can be traced to animals or animal products. You can get a disease directly from an animal, or indirectly, through the environment.

Farm animals can carry diseases. If you touch them or things they have touched, like fencing or buckets, wash your hands thoroughly. Adults should make sure children who visit farms or petting zoos wash up as well.

Pets can also make you sick. Reptiles pose a particular risk. Turtles, snakes and iguanas can transmit Salmonella bacteria to their owners. You can get rabies from an infected dog or toxoplasmosis from handling kitty litter of an infected cat. The chance that your dog or cat will make you sick is small. You can reduce the risk by practicing good personal hygiene, keeping pet areas clean and keeping your pets' shots up-to-date.
