Karma is the view of how our actions affect the world around us. In Hinduism (which is one of the religious beliefs that influenced yogic thought) it's our actions, thoughts, words, deeds and influence over others. The belief in reincarnation (which Hinduism also supports) means that we carry the sum total-good or bad-of those influences throughout our reincarnations.
In yoga, there are several schools of thought about karma and how to enhance the positive karma you carry. Devotional (Bhakti) yoga is one way. Another is through performing charitable or devotional acts. IN general, many schools of yogic thought hold that any compassionate action helps support positive karma.

Most people know that Yoga is considered a healthy and peaceful form of exercise. However, most individuals don't realize that yoga can be very beneficial to the diet.
For animals, it's common knowledge that diet can effect well being and behavior; unfortunately, most people forget that food can play the same role in the human diet. 'Yogis', the term used to define those who practice yoga, believe that the diet can have a significant impact on a person's emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual life.
Yogis tend to ignore the protein and chemical aspects of food, instead they group food into the effect is has on the mind and body. The food is categorized using the three Gunas: Tanas, referring to the quality of darkness, Savvta, the quality of light, love, and life, and Raja, the quality of activity and passion. By using this system, Yogis choose their diet based on what they feel they need for their overall well being.
Sattvic food is believed to help with clarity and calmness. Vegetables, nuts, seeds, milk, water, and honey are considered to be Sattvic foods. Yogics feel that Tamasic food should be avoided as it encourages a dull mind, heavy body, and only has a negative impact on the human body. Tamasic foods include stale and overripe foods as well as alcohol. Overeating is also discouraged. Rajasic food is meant to positively influence activity and some yogics believe that it causes a restless mind and discourage it for a healthy, yogic diet. Rajasic foods include: garlic, onion, chocolate, fish, processed food, and stimulants such as caffeine. Only individuals with a very active lifestyle should eat Rajasic foods.
Additionally, yogis place a great emphasis on when an individual should eat. Eating late at night is discouraged, with a gap of 3-4 hours between dinner and bed recommended. All food is encouraged to be eaten fresh with gratitude, attentiveness, and respect. Yogis also feel that the energy and attitude of the person preparing the food can influence its effects on an individual. As a result, some Yogis won't eat out and like to always prepare their own food.
Following a Yogic diet takes attention to detail and an open mind. However, most believe that it can have many positive effects for those individuals looking to improve their overall well being and spiritual health.

The vaishya diet is traditionally vegetarian. In addition to not eating meat, a vaishya is also supposed to avoid alcohol [I would assume in the current world this would also include drugs]. The vaishya diet is a Sattvic one. The Sattvic diet has also often been referred to as the yogic diet and is made up of a very complicated system that delineates foods and the interrelations of their unique properties. Ahimsa [not harming] is a crucial part of the diet and the practice. Due to this, almost all practitioners choose vegetarianism or veganism.

The Pranava is the name given to the sacred Mantra given by initiation only. Those that give the Sacred Word do so out of their own ignorance and have broken one of the most ancient yogic injunctions regarding Mantra.
One cannot give another a Mantra unless that Mantra lives within them. When the inner power of the Mantra is realized and made to manifest within the practitioner, he or she is then qualified to give Mantra initiation.
The Pranava is the Mantric sound issued by the Sun as it radiates its energies throughout the Solar System and beyond. These Universal Energies were refered to as Prana by the ancients and hence the term Pranava.

Health tourism is traveling expressly for the purpose of engaging in some sort of health procedure.
These procedures do not always mean surgeries ... they can range from Western Medicine to the various traditional medicines (such as Ayurveda, Naturopathic, Yogic, Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc).
There are many countries that now are active in marketing expressly to this health tourism market niche. Many patients save high percentages in the cost of procedures from plastic surgery (very popular in Thailand and Brazil, among other countries) to open heart surgery. People find that the added cost of flights and accommodation still find them paying much less than in the west ... especially the United States.

1. The coolness:
On each side of our nose, extending from a point above our incisor teeth to the bridge of our nose is a muscle called Compressor naris. Isometric contraction (hardening) of this muscle gives as a feeling of coolness.
It should be noted that this muscle is exercised in Yogic exercise called Pranayama .
2. The feeling of shivering:
Extending downwards from our Adam's apple is a pair muscles called Sternothyroid. This is the muscle we use for singing. If a part of this muscle is contracted isometrically waves of isometric contraction pass to the extremities during breathing.
3. The chilly sensation:
If these two muscles contract together isometrically during breathing they give us a chilly sensation.
If these two muscles contract isotonically (shorten) also it leads to shivering.

Agni Sara is a cleansing practice - agni means fire, and in this practice the internal fire is stoked, helping to heat up the body from within in order to stimulate digestion and detoxify the bodily systems. Sukhasana or 'Easy sitting' pose is a good position for this practice, although many other poses are also appropriate. Then, with that body awareness, move into a more suitable position where the spine can stretch. Agni Sara can also be done standing, with the feet spread wide apart, knees bent in an easy standing-squat and the hands resting on the thighs for support. Whichever position you choose, remember to work towards an erect spine rather than a rounded or hunched one...

It is typical to lose fat or volume on the face as we age. Losing baby fat or subcutaneous fat makes us appear gaunt and old, while having a chubby face can make you look years younger. While the western world treats volume loss with injections (either silicon based or actual fat from other areas of your body), the eastern world has a yogic breathing technique (also known as pranayama) that can help you maintain the fat on your face (prevent you from losing any more fat or volume on the face). Here's what you do:
1. 1. Sit in a comfortable position
2. 2. Keep your head straight and inhale for 5 seconds
3. 3. Touch your chin to the base of your neck and hold your breath for 5 seconds
4. 4. Exhale for 5 seconds
5. 5. Do steps 2-4 a total of 4 to 5 times a day
Good luck to everyone!

Do you know high heels make a woman physically as well as mentally fit for living a queen size life on this planet? If you do not know, know now. High heels make a woman attractive, it is true. Though it is not universal, as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. So it is a prerogative of a viewer/assessor, of course opinions of few do have weight but the most scientific part of a heel wearing woman is that her muscles are under yogic exercise. So she remains physically fit and mentally alert with a nice balance in both the physical and mental attention. So this also contributes to reduce an obesity of a woman because cholesterol is burnt for releasing energy for beaing an additional load on the body of a high heel wearing woman in comparison to an ordinary heel wearing woman.

The general answer to that question is yes.
Yoga is the basis of every religion and spiritual path.
In fact, its the basis of every philosophical thought and indeed ALL thought, whether it is philosophical or not!!!
For this to be correctly understood we must study the basis of religious mystical experience starting with the human organism and its subtle counterpart the aura.
Religion, itself, is an expression or translation of truth based on the experiences of certain individuals.
If the translating mechanism (human mind) is faulty only a bad translation of truth can be received and expressed.
One of the Founders of Jainism, Mahavira himself, who established what later became the central tenets of Jainism gave up great family wealth and materialistic possessions so as to learn detachment and practice yoga and meditation.
For over ten years Mahavira practiced intense austerities and then went out to teach and serve others.
Other examples of Yogic Philosophy and practices can be found throughout Jain history.
