The oldest observatory in the world is believed to be the Nabta Playa observatory in Egypt, dating back to around 6,000 years ago. It consisted of megalithic structures that were possibly used for astronomical observations and rituals by ancient peoples.

The Philippines is host to four animal species that are only found in the country. These are the tamaraw (a dwarf buffalo), the mouse deer (smallest deer on earth), the tarsier (smallest monkey in the world), and the zebronkey (half zebra and half donkey).

Other animals in the Philippines are the water buffalo, which is used by farmers to till the ground; insects (25,000 species); snakes; crocodiles and birds.
