These famous words were said by, John the Baptist as he saw Jesus walking by.

Why did Jesus walk anywhere? Because his heavenly Father led him as he said:
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do : for what things soever he doeth , these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5.19)

Ecclesiastes 7:3-5 "Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools."
Biblically our countenance is our outward appearance, what shows on our faces, what we say, and what we do.. What goes on inside, shows outside.
I Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

The hireling in the Bible means the hired help who works simply for wages and generally has no real interest in his work, as Jesus said:
But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

Matthew 6:6 "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to the Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
Jesus warns us in Matthew 6:1 to "take heed that ye do not your alms before men to be seen of them; otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven." See also Luke 8:17 "nothing is secret" and Romans 2:16 "In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

It depends how you want them to feel in the end. If you send them to their room and leave them for a while, they will fume for a bit, but will calm down eventually, and accept the punishment. However, if you make them sit in a corner with nothing to do, they will be board, and will continue to seeth over the subject until they are 'released' from the punishment. So one way you have a calm girl, the other you have an enraged one.
Your choice.

Peter, and therefore his successor, John Paul II, had been given the Keys to the Kingdom by Our Lord. As the Vicar of Christ on Earth, I can't see where it could have been wrong in praying anywhere.

Mary Magdalene is the first encounter that is mentioned in John's Gospel, Chapter 20:
1The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre...11But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know not where they have laid him. 14And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

No. There is no 'angel of death' or 'death angel' mentioned in the Bible.
However when God wanted to kill a numberof people, it is recorded that he often sent an angel to perform this duty, as in 2 Kings 19.35 where an angel of the Lord smote 185 thousand Assyrians, and 1 Chronicles 21.15, where God sent an angel to destroy Jerusalem.

No. This was a case of false reporting and rumour. John addressed this error in his own Gospel:
John 21:20-24.
20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? 21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? 22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. 23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? 24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

John 3:16-17 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, for God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

10And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. 11And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. 50Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent. 10He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

There is no verse in the King James version of the Bible that says "ye shall know the spirit by the spirit" , but something like the following may have been meant:-
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luk 11:14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.
Luk 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
Luk 11:16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
Luk 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.
Luk 11:18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
Luk 11:19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
Luk 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Joh 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Joh 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Joh 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

This depends what the particular need is. Here are some both specific and general:
5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

In chapter six of St. Matthew's Gospel, the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Our Blessed Lord covers almsgiving, prayer, and fasting; here is the section on prayer:
6] But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee. [7]And when you are praying, speak not much, as the heathens. For they think that in their much speaking they may be heard. [8] Be not you therefore like to them, for your Father knoweth what is needful for you, before you ask him. [9]Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. [10]Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.[11]Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. [12]And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. [13]And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. [14]For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences. [15]But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your offences.

I don't know what you are referring to… studies have shown that adult members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) on average are more highly educated, more financially stable, and have longer life spans than non-Mormons. They are not child-like in their appearance, knowledge, or abilities.
However, Mormons do dedicate their lives to following the teachings of Jesus Christ, who said, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3-4) and that "The natural man is an enemy to God, and will be unless he becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 3:19) So, if a Mormon seems to be childlike in these ways, it is because he/she is trying to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The study of Peter's character in the Bible will not produce any satisfactory answers to your question, beside the obvious fact the Lord chose him. The Bible does not say anything about why Peter or what makes him special, but it does have a few things to say about some of the principles, on which basis God chooses certain individuals.
1Corinthians 1:26-31 "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."
From the above passage it is clear that God does not look for outstanding or great individuals that the world would admire or set as an example, but God is seeking those that would simply trust Him, with child-like humility (Matthew 18:1-4) For those who still like to hold on to their pride, or self-esteem this is a hard pill to swallow, but God is not interested in anything puny, wretched sinners may have to offer him, He offers everything to us. Peter was full of himself, he thought he was somebody important, he though he was a hero - John 13:37 "Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice." Peter had to learn that night that he was no hero but a coward, that was a very humbling experience for him and it was necessary, in the end he made good on his boasting, for he indeed laid down his life for the Lord, but only by the grace of God and in God's own time.
1Samuel 16:7 - "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."
