No. Terriers have the instinct of a "ratter". Even though a sugar glider is a marsupial and not a rodent, any type of terrier will not make that distinction. They are bred to flush out small animals. A sugar glider is likely to have a very short life span if it is anywhere near a terrier.

Kind of. There is a dog breed called the Rat Terrier. Other dogs with different breed names, such as the Jack Russell, are rat terriers; as are many other dog breeds. Rat terrier is a dog job. Most terriers are good ratters. Generally good with other dogs and cats in his own family, the Rat Terrier does have a high prey drive and quick reflexes and will dispatch squeaky creatures with little effort. Toto, the dog in Wizard of Oz is a Cairn Terrier, and he's ratter, too.

The Miniature Pinscher is a German breed. The Miniature Pinscher was developed from the Dachshund, Italian Greyhound, and the short haired German Pinscher. The breed looks like a mini Doberman, most likely because both the Miniature Pinscher and the the Doberman both were developed from the German Pinscher. The breed was used as a barnyard ratter controlling the rodent population in the stables. The Miniature Pinscher is often called the "King Of The Toys."Some of the Miniature Pinscher's talents are competitive obedience, watchdog, and agility.

It is believed that the Irish Terrier is one of the oldest terrier breeds. The breed is thought to be two thousand years old, but the earliest images we have of it is in a painting of the 1700's. The exact breeds it descended from are unknown, but they were originally found in Country Cork, Ireland. The Irish Terrier was used to hunt den animals such as otter, and water rats and as a retriever and war time messenger. The Irish Terrier was recognized by the AKC in 1885 and a United States' breed club was started in 1896. Some of the Irish Terrier's talents include: hunting, tracking, retrieving, ratter, watchdog, guarding, police work, and military work.

As years go by and some countries prohibit the use of pesticides yes, rats are adapting to modern poisons. When you put poison out for a rat you are also killing other good bugs, rodents not to mention birds or possibly your pets. The best thing to do is get a dog (ratter) or a cat. I had a Cairn and have a cat and the rats went away. I never had a rat in my home (my cat brought one in once and it's the one and only time I shrieked so loud I almost split the sound barer.) The rat was stunned and my brother picked it up in his jacket and put it outside. Rats are usually attracted near railroads where there is grain, or by garbage left out by humans. If you feed birds then you may get rats. There are more environmentally safe forms of getting rid of rats and it's best to let the exterminator do his job.

The Manchester Terrier is the oldest known terrier breed. Developed as a rat hunter in nineteenth century Manchester, England by a man named John Hulme. It has earned the nickname of "rat terrier" because of it's tenacity at catching rats and mice. It is considered to be the best vermin hunting breed. In a British contest one Manchester named Billy was said to have killed 100 rats in only 6 minutes and 13 seconds. The Manchester Terrier developed by crossing Black & Tan Terrier and the Whippet. There are two types of Manchester Terrier: the Standard and Toy. The Toy variety became popular during the reign of Queen Victoria, when smaller dogs were very popular. The Standard Manchester still retains the ability to be a prized ratter, but the breed as a whole is a companion dog. The Manchester Terrier has gone down in popularity. The Manchester Terrier was used in the development of several breeds, among them the Doberman Pinscher, and the Airedale Terrier.

The dispute turned on whether or not David SINCLAIR of Broynach's marriage to his housekeeper Janet EWING took place (the Earldom of Caithness, by Royal Charter, is passed on to heir-males of legitimate descent). In Scotland a marriage legitimised children prior to a marriage, so it was the legitimacy of the marriage that was important. In the first contest his grandson James SINCLAIR in Reiss was unable to prove the marriage and Rattar got the title. James returned years later from India, a Captain and a wealthy man, Captain James SINCLAIR in Reiss H.E.I.C.S. He was advised that there was in fact evidence of the marriage in the form of the record of Olrig kirk session minutes concerning the fate of a dodgy minister, Arthur ANDERSON, who had married Broynach & Janet against the wishes of the clergy. With the assistance of buried treasure in a field found by his father-in-law, James went back to the Committee of Privileges to try to reclaim the title in 1788. But James died suddenly and no further Broynach candidates came forward to contest the title. In their absence the Committee of Privileges maintained the status quo, declaring the marriage irregular having been performed by an outed minister.
Thomas SINCLAIR M.A. Edin., a Broynach descendant, championed the Broynach cause in the period 1889-1891 with a series of letters and articles to newspapers (especially the Northern Ensign) and magazines, and petitioned the committee of Privileges to consider the Broynach claim (unsuccessful).
There are many Broynach descendants and I have contacted a number of branches. Email me at peterd501-AT-yahoo.co.nz if interested.

What the human beeing calls life refers to the material body that has "life" and its counter as death, is when the body stops working. They consider that life is learning while walking on a path that you chose by your actions until your body stops.
The Real Answer:
You were born as what you call spirit on a Quasar star by the power Source LOVE and will of God itself. The Light Civilizations evolved to a state that cannot consider a beeing to be inteligent without learning all meanings, aspects and emotions there are to learn, so they imbue you in on a physical body that is capable of this specific development. You are corrently on the 4 dimension of consiousness. and you are part of god with all its capabilities.
There are several kinds of energetic beeings, wich they are connected to the DNA contain on a body. This only alows spirits of the contained DNA to reborn on this bodies.
The Human beeing was created to fill a specific purpose that was needed specificly for these Entities. They didnt feel conected to God and they asked to evolve again, learn what pain is, so they could consider their future world a better place ratter then good without meaning.
Living on a physical body is to Uplift the consiouness and understanding of the Omniverse.
We are already very close to the 5th dimension. Dont worry, the pain wont last long ;)

In the early 1800's Bulldogs crossed with terriers were popular. By 1830 combat between Bulldogs and bulls were at the height of their popularity. Lovers of this so called "sport" decided to create a dog that would attack even more agilely. They crossed the Bulldog with the Old English Terrier adding in some Spanish Pointer blood, the result was the Bull Terrier breed. They soon found that the Bull Terriers were not the most successful fighters. In 1860 the white-coated variety, which was nicknamed the "White Cavalier" was bred by a dog dealer named English dog dealer James Hinks and soon became a fashionable pet for nobles. The colored variety of Bull Terriers were created by back crossing them with brindle Staffordshires The breed has been used as a guard, ratter, herder and watchdog. The Miniature was developed to have the same qualities as the Standard Bull Terrier but with a more manageable size. The Standard Bull Terrier was first recognized by the AKC in 1885 and the Miniature Bull Terrier in 1991. While the AKC sees the Standard Bull Terrier and the Miniature Bull Terrier as separate breeds the standard requirements are the same accept for size. Whereas most other clubs see them as different varieties of the same breed or the same breed without placing a variety label. For example the FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale) has both breeds listed under Bull Terrier separating them by a Standard and Miniature variety. The UCK (United Kennel Club) does not place any height or weight restrictions but does require the dog to be in proportion. The Bull Terrier was recognized by the United Kennel Club in 1948.

There are many tips on the web for how to stop your dog from barking. In my opinion most of them don't work, are impractical or not applicable for the situations where your dog barks. See related link below for one list of these remedies.
The only one I've had any luck with is the first one. Originally our dog only barked at squirrels in our back yard. I considered this inbred behavior (she was bred to be a ratter and squirrels are rats with cosmetic enhancements and a PR program. So, I removed the squirrels and she stopped barking. At that time she hadn't figured out barking a passers by in the street was fun. Since then she's learned this barking behavior and it continues to get worse. To remove this stimulus we'd have to keep her indoors and we're not willing to do that. I have a training shock collar which I've used to try to stop this behavior, but she quickly learned that she only got shocked when the collar was on. And I'm not willing to use a real shock collar that's on all the time and shocks her every time she barks. Barking is natural behavior -- it's part of what dogs were bred to do.
Ignoring the barking on the theory it will stop by itself is absurd unless you're rewarding the dog for barking, like giving them treats or petting them when they bark. If you're doing something like that then stop rewarding your dog for barking and he might stop barking.
Distracting them only works if you're around to distract them every time they start barking.
I've trained her to stop barking when I say quiet in a calm, soft tone of voice, but this only lasts until I'm out of sight.
In summary, I don't know of anything that will stop a dog from barking except a bark shock collar. Maybe the kind of collar that make an unpleasant noise and squirt citronella, which dogs hate the smell of, every time they bark.

Actually, Minature schnauzers were originally bred to keep mice away. The beard made it so if the mice attacked the dogs neck, it would get a mouthful of beard fur rather than doing damage to the neck of the schnauzer. It is like a safety thing for them.
A Schnauzer (plural Schnauzers) is a German dog type that originated in Germany in the 15th and 16th centuries. The term comes from Schnauze , the German word for "snout", because of the dog's distinctively bearded snout. The word Schnauzeralso means moustache in German;
The schnauzer was used as a "ratter" to catch vermin and used by farmers to protect their harvest. The main reason they have a beard is for protection of their face. This beard wasn't always like we see it today, nice, soft, and (most of the time) clean; it was hardened with dirt, mud, debris, etc… which formed a type of "armor" against the vermin's teeth and/or claws the schnauzer was attacking.
This is a trait that was bred into them by crossing breads; they may be most closely related to German Pinschers, and the spitz-type breeds.

The Brussels Griffon, named for the city of his origin, Brussels, Belgium, is a lively, sturdy little fellow, classified as a member of the Toy Group due to his small size. Adults usually range in weight from six to twelve pounds. During the early 1800's, it was the custom for coachmen to keep small terrier types as ratters in the stables, and such dogs of that period in Belgium were Affenpinscher-like, known as Griffons d'Ecurie (wire coated stable dogs). Just when or why other breeds were introduced can only be conjecture as the Brussels' stablemen who initiated these crosses apparently kept no records. The Pug, a Victorian favorite from across the Channel, was bred to the native Belgian dog in the mid 1800s. From this cross came a smooth coated Griffon designated Brabancon after the Belgian national anthem, La Brabonconne. At about the same time the King Charles (black and tan) and the Ruby varieties of the English Toy Spaniel were also crossed with the Belgian dogs. From these two crossings not only did two distinct types of coat emerge, the harsh coated bewiskered rough, and the smooth coated Brabancon, but also the rich red color; the black and tan color, and the solid black color. The English Toy Spaniel ancestry can also be seen to this day in an occasional (and completely acceptable) web footed, kink tailed, or tailless Griffon puppy, often the one with the most desirable head properties. These two short faced, big headed, large eyed breeds forever changed the serviceable little ratter into a delightful small companion dog with a strong, broad, up-swept underjaw, and a very short, up-tilted nose placed high between very dark, lustrous eyes with the high domed skull of the English Toy Spaniel. All of this together conjures that wonderful "pout", which gives the Griffon that almost human expression. No longer serving his original function (in itself obsolete) the Brussels Griffon has evolved into a most intriguing looking, alert and active companion.

See here for good information about least painful forms - overdose of anaesthesia: http://www.rmca.org/Articles/euthanasia.htm
Death by CO2 is cruel and painful because the animal suffocates to death..when CO2 is introduced in high levels the Heart rate increases, breathing increases and becomes labored, disorentation occurs, muscle spasms, convultions and loss of bodily functions are not uncommon as well....
For small animals such as pet mice and rats cervical dislocation is a fast and humane manor..This can of course be done using the proper size of mouse/rat trap,or can be done by holding the animal and with some force quickly striking the back of its neck/head on a hard surface...This method is done in many petshops and by individuals to kill mice/rats prior to feeding them to reptiles such as snakes, because it is more humane than allowing the snake to crush the animal causing asphixiation....
The use of Nitrogen is also a humane method used in most labs for rats, mice, and rabbits...Nitrogen asphixiation causes the animal to fall into a deep sleep as the oxygen levels in its body fall and death follows quickly with cardiac arrest with hardly any visable signs of distress unlike Asphixiation by CO2 that cause a wide range of symptoms before death occurs....

No. The German Pincher (Standard Pinscher) is one of the foundation breeds that were used to create the Doberman. The Doberman was created in Germany by a tax collector Mr. Louis Dobermann. Many crosses were used to create the Doberman. German Pinschers, Rottweilers, Beauceron Pinschers, Manchester Terriers, and the addition of the Greyhound gave the Doberman its' sleek and racey look. The German Pinscher(Standard Pinscher), besides helping to create the Doberman was one of the foundation breeds of The Minature Pinscher. The Minature Pincher like the Doberman had several breeds crosses to set the type for The Minature Pinscher. German Pinchers, Dachshunds, the small toy Greyhounds called the Italian Greyhound helped create a diminuative version of the German Pincher. The Minature Pincher called Min-Pins, and are mistakenly called Mini-Dobie. They did not decend from the Doberman. But both decended from the mid sized German Pincher. (The Standard Pincher). In actuality this answer is incorrect. Karl Frederich Louis Dobermann the creator of the Doberman pinscher did not use the Manchester Terrier or Greyhound. After his death in 1894 his kennel was purchased and the new kennel breeder introduced the Manchester as well as the Greyhound and in all likelihood the Great Dane as the dogs size grew larger after his death.
The German Pinscher is in fact a smooth coated Standard Schnauzer that first appeared in the mid 1700's. Long after the Miniature Pinscher was in existence. It had nothing to do with the Miniature Pinscher (Zwergpinscher) which is simply a cross of the smooth coated Dachshund with an Italian Greyhound. By 1895 the Pinscher-Schnauzer Klub of Germany recgnized the German Pinscher as a separate breed so long as there was 3 generations of pedigree to substantiate it. It was officially given the name "Deutscherpinscher" which in English translates to German Pinscher. For the record there is no breed "Beauceron pinscher". Nor did the German Pinscher play any role in the creation or as breed stock for the Miniature Pinscher. The only documented study ever on the creation of the Zwergpinscher (miniature Pinscher) was done in the early 1800's and posted in 1836 by Dr. Frederich Reichenbach who after years of study concluded the breed was derived from just 2 separate breeds, Dachshund and Italian Greyhound. The other variations as to the creation of the Miniature Pinscher have no basis in fact and were started years ago with no doumentation to support it. It just keeps getting copied and reprinted by everyone who thinks they know the breed but have failed to take time to actually research beyond the shores of the US. Even in Germany the land of origin this rumor is well known to be just that a rumor. German farmers created the breed and for the purpose it was designed for, a swift ratter.
In all likelihood though the "Deutscherpinscher" though not yet recognized as a separate breed from the Standard Schnauzer, was probably used by Dobermann in the beginning. The German Pinscher though nearly became extinct by WWII. If it had not been for Werner Jung, who escaped Germany with what was purported to be 3 registered German Pinscher bitches. Unfortunately with no males to be found he turned to oversized Miniature Pinscher males he found on farms as breed stock. It took him nearly 15 years but by the end of the 1950's he had resurrected the German Pinscher we see today. So the Miniature Pinscher breed stock can be found in the German Pinscher but not the other way around. One more note, the word "pinscher" does NOT translate or mean Terrier. It is taken from the English word "pincher" and was used to describe the biting action of the breed. In fact, Dobermann's do not have this biting action though the German Pinscher does. The Terrier breeds are the only breeds created by man for the sole purpose of killing other animals. Both the Miniature Pinscher and German Pinscher (once recognized) are ratters with high prey drive.
