• Brides are simply individuals in how they deal with the stress of an up coming wedding. Some brides may get cold feet and question whether they want to marry their true love; other brides may become the wicked witch of the West and be moody; perhaps cry or become demanding. Your sister should learn the etiquette of traditional weddings because the maid of honor is chosen to help the bride and not her friend. Your sister sounds moody and appears to be pushing your buttons. Ask her why she bothered to ask you to be maid of honor if she didn't feel you cared. If the niece is there for prewedding decorating then your own children should be welcome. As far as the reception goes it is not uncommon for the bride and groom to refuse to have children at the wedding reception.
