Well this depends strictly upon each vault. You will first need to obtain your license to judge from USAG. You will then salute the gymnast, signifying that you are ready to watch the vault. You will need to watch for a piked position and an arched position. You will also want to make sure the gymnast jump up when approaching the vault as opposed to reach directly for the vault. Also, the gymnast must stick the landing as well. You will learn about all the decutions to make as you are trained to become a judge.

Spiny dogfish Squalus acanthias (also known as spurdog, piked dogfish and a number of other names) has five gill slits, all situated in front of the pectoral fins. This is according to Fishes of the Sea by John and Gillian Lythgoe (Blandford Press, 1991). The FAO FishBase (www.fishbase.org) is a good source of information on this and many other species of fish.

Sharks can and do live in the Black Sea. Leonard Compagno, an international authority on shark taxonomy, indicates in his 'Collins Field Guide to Sharks of the World' two species which occur in the Black Sea: the Angelshark (Squatina squatina) and the Thresher Shark (Alopias vulpinus). There is no doubt that a third species, the Spurdog or Piked Dogfish (Squalus acanthias), also occurs there, but it is strangely absent from the Black Sea on the distribution map. The author warns, however, that many distribution maps are likely incomplete, and that it is quite possible that many species have a wider distribution than illustrated.

Well, during the time when you're training you'll start to get into doing stunts, cheers, and somethings to stretch your muscles. Some of the stunts you do are cradles. It's where they lift you up into the air and you can do twists and turns. And you can even do flips! If your going to try out I suggest you should sign up. It's a great sport! U start doing stunts tumbling cheers dances and exercises. weight lift, run (1 or 2 miles then suicides), MANY stretches, flexibility and agility, motions, jumps, stunts, stunt drills, tumling and tumbling drills, cheers, dance it's harder than it sounds I'm on a Junior Three team. I practice twice a week. Here's what we do. To start off we run ten laps around the gym, and then strech. The we do line tumble up and down a springboard floor to warm up basics like forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs. We then go to our jump formations and do jumps, 5 of each kind. Then we run our routine many times, working motions and stuff. Then we stunt doing the ones in our routines, and other basics. Then we go to tumble on the tumble track to work back handsprings and tucks. At the end we condition doing as mant as 200 crunches ( back, each side, and legs in the air), 50 pushups, 50 cherry pickers, 50 mountain climbers, wall sits for 2 minutes, 20 leg lifts on each leg, 20 stradle, and 20 piked. Also, we may do lunges, and candle stick jumps. Then we usually have some sort of contest, game or , race to see who goes home first.

The Glide Kip... Ahhh... Such memories in learning this move. Its probably the hardest basic skill to get, and then one of the easiest after you get it. Trust me, bars is so much more fun once you get your kip.
First, Lay on the ground, in hollow position [[on your back, like you just finished a glide swing]], with your arms over your head. Quickly pull your feet to your hands, and sit up as you pull your hands down to your hips. This simulates what a glide kip should feel like.
After you do that a couple of times, go to the low bar. Stand in front of it and do a powerful swing. If you are tall, or have trouble with piked glide swings, do it in straddle. The more power you get out of you swing, the better (and easier) your kip will be. When you reach the end of your swing, quickly bring your toes to the bar. When your toes touch the bar, pull the bar down to your hips [sort of like pulling up your pants]... Once the bar is at your hips, KEEP PULLING on the bar. Rotate your hands to the top of the bar, and throw all your weight down to the floor below you. Don't try to look at the high bar, look down to the floor when you are trying to get to front support. Don't try to kick away from the bar, or arch to get up. It will only make the process of learning your kip much, much slower. Ask your coach to spot you through your kip so you can feel the timing of the move. This is mostly a timing move. Strength will help, but it won't do you much good if you don't have the right timing. It takes patient. You have to wait until your glide swing is FULLY stretched out before you try to kip.
Don't get discouraged!!
Some conditioning that will help with the strength you will need for your kip are:
~Hanging leg lifts. These will help with the strength needed to pull your legs to the bar, and hold the there during your kip.
~Lateral Pull Downs. These will help with the strength needed to complete the kip, and reach front support.

In individual events a number of Judges (usually 7) award marks out of 10 for each dive. Only three scores count toward the total so the highest and lowest scores are removed. The total of the three scores is then multiplied by the dive tariff.
Each dive is given a tariff according to difficulty. This is often called the degree of difficulty (DD)
A forward three and a half piked (107B) has a tariff of 3.0. A forward four and a half tuck (109C) has a tariff of 3.7.
Example:
A diver completes a 107B and receives 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 8.0, 7.5, 8.5, 8.0 from the seven judges. The two highest (8.5's) and the two lowest (7.5's) scores are removed leaving 3 x 8.0 totalling 24. This total is multiplied by the tariff to give the dive score: 24 (Judges marks) x 3.0 (Dive tariff) = 72 points
Another diver completes a 109C and receives the same scores from the judges. His total score will be: 24 x 3.7 = 88.80 points.
Synchronized events are marked differently. I'm happy to try and explain them also if anyone wants me to!
