I'm not sure what state you're hunting in, but in many states, the majority of pheasants are stocked into gamelands and parks just before hunting season, from farms, because their are so few left in the wild. Just recently, though, the wild populations have been growing, because of the restrictions on hunting females who lay eggs.

I would suggest.. Is there any land enrolled in a conservation plan or gamelands agreement? Has any land been farmed recently and is there any crop history reports? *Is there any preferential tax treatment that will expire if title is changed? (Example: Here in PA, you pay a penalty if land use changes while under the preferential 'clean and green' tax program.) Does any equipment stay with the property? Is there land in a designated flood plain? Are there any existing gas leases or wells?

I don't believe that hunting should be illegal. I do believe that it should be carefully regulated. Without legal and responsibly enjoyed hunting, we would have some serious problems in some areas. Some places would become over-run with ruminants, and this could lead to wide-spread damage to watersheds and other environments, and would probably lead to much more suffering for animals that would over-graze their feeding ranges. Other animals are plentiful and harmful to agriculture and other businesses. It's reasonable that we consider a wide range of need, and cull populations as necessary.

I agree that it shouldn't be illegal, however bear in mind the reason that places would be overrun with ruminants is because humans killed of the predators nto because of any imbalence in the natural world
