The southern and eastern segment of the Edwards Plateau is the Balcones Escarpment which, together with the Llano Uplift in the north central segment of the plateau, is known as the Texas Hill Country. There are a series of National Parks and Monuments on the eastern side of Utah. Moab UT is a good starting point to go see them. Included are: Glen Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Goosenecks, Valley of the Gods, Natural Bridges, Newspaper Rock, Canyonlands, Arches, Dead Horse, Goblin Valley and Capitol Reef.

It all depends upon which route you follow. If you use I 70 there are a bunch of parks along this route including Arches, Dead Horse, Canyonlands, Goblin Valley and Capitol Reef. All are outstanding for videos to preview a park and maps showing how to get there go to visitingparks.com/TourEasternUtah.html. If you are going to Northern California I 80 passes Lake Tahoe.
