Unfortunately, the answer from Ducks3599 is absolutely false. The cello DID NOT come before the violin and Louis Spohr was certainly NOT the "creator" of the violin as L. Spohr lived mostly in the 19th century. First mentions or depictions of violin go back to the 12-13th centuries. The 'cello (short of violoncello) did not come into the view until the 15th century.

While this information is technically correct, the violin and cello, in basically their current form, both came into being in the mid 1500's as being designed by Andreas Amati. "Violins" prior to that time had a different shape and less strings. Other instruments that they evolved from, such as the viola da gamba, had versions that were of similar size to both but had more strings and frets.

Saf-T-Pops were developed in the early 1940s by Carl W. Spohr of Chicago and Robert F. Bracke of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Curtiss Candy Company acquired the rights to Saf-T-Pops in the late 1940s. At this time, Curtiss was a division of Standard Brands, who also made the popular Baby Ruth candy bar. The idea for Saf-T-Pops, a lollipop for toddlers with a flexible fiber loop handle, was patented April 7, 1942. Spangler Candy Company bought the brand in 1978 from Curtiss Candy Company in Chicago and began production in 1979. Spangler Candy is still making Saf-T-Pops, about 500,000 each day.

If you mean worked with in the sense of collaborating, that wasn't his thing; he tended to get low marks on "works and plays well with others". :-)
He did tend to be influenced by the musicians for which he wrote, such as the violin virtuoso Ignaz Schuppanzigh, who likely influenced Beethoven's string quartets. He was also friendly with composers Louis Spohr and Carl Maria von Weber, among others.
In terms of those composers with whom Beethoven studied, he was taught composition by Christian Neefe in Bonn; after meeting Joseph Haydn, Beethoven decided to move to Vienna where he could study with the recognized master of the symphony and string quartet forms. It seems Haydn and Beethoven had a difficult teacher/student relationship (one can only imagine!), and Beethoven studied with Albrechtsberger on the side. He also studied composition in the vocal forms with Salieri, who despite his representation in the movie Amadeus was a quite gifted composer and apparently a very capable teacher.

Initially, Wolfgang Mozart and Anon Stadler
The clarinet was not very well known in the Baroque period of music (this was when Bach wrote music). Generally, clarinet players would have to travel all around Europe looking for a job. One extremely talented clarinet player was Anton Stadler, who played the bass clarinet. When Wolfgang Mozart heard Stadler play, he was inspired to write his Clarinet Concerto, still known as one of the greatest masterpieces of the clarinet repertoire. The two also became close friends. Most importantly, a famous composer like Mozart writing a concerto for clarinet brought attention to the instrument. This led to many composers writing for the clarinet. While composers such as Weber, Spohr and Crusell did make the clarinet more famous by writing for it, Mozart was the one who initially made the clarinet well known. So, the answer is, the clarinet was initially made famous by either Mozart, for writing his Concerto, or Anton Stadler, indirectly, by inspiring him to do so. The clarinet was made more famous later in time by many people, such as those aforementioned composers and clarinet players like Simon Hermstedt, Heinrich Baermann, Artie Shaw, and Benny Goodman (the last two for making clarinet famous within the jazz genre).
