It's basically a little gift from the company for being awesome at your job, you know? So, if you meet the criteria, enjoy those paid holidays and maybe treat yourself to some extra guac on your burrito or something.

Oh, dude, Randstad might hit you with a standard urine drug test or maybe even a cheeky hair follicle test if they're feeling fancy. Just make sure you're not bringing any surprises to the party, like, no one wants to see your weekend shenanigans showing up on a drug test, right? Keep it clean, my friend, or at least be prepared to explain why you smell like a Bob Marley concert.

A decreasing amount of people lives in the rural areas in the north (provinces Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe) and east (Overijssel, Gelderland).

Kids causing trouble.

I've never seen A single Cop patrolling the streets.

Major Positive:

U cant buy guns in The Netherlands.

Other notes:

Though, there are (In my Opinion) a lot of Road accidents, But that's because A lot of Dutch people Use Bikes.

I wouldn't advice to go to Noord- Of zuid-Holland.

That's where the "Randstad" is.

And its always safer in small towns here.

Nothing to worry about ;)

Temporary agencies place workers in different employment areas. They represent office talent, industrial talent, and creative talent, among others.

In order to find work with a temporary agency, you must first decide what type of employment you are seeking. If a company hires only industrial talent, then do not send your resume if you are seeking a clerical position.

To get a feel for the type of employees a particular temp agency is seeking, visit the agency’s website. Popular temp agencies in the United States are Randstad, Spherion, and Ajilon. However, many agencies are not part of a large chain. Check your local yellow pages or do an online search to find the names of temporary agencies in your area. Once you’ve visited the websites of the agencies you’re interested in, screen out those that do not represent the type of work you are seeking.

Most temporary agencies receive applications online. Some agencies also have online applications that you must complete. Once you’ve uploaded your resume and completed the proper online paperwork, call the agency to ensure that they’ve received your resume. Attempt to schedule a face-to-face meeting with an agency recruiter. Because the staff at temp agencies is bombarded with online submissions, it is best to put a face with your application. If you meet with them in person, they are more likely to remember you.

If you are able to set up an appointment, treat the appointment like a job interview. Dress professionally and bring extra copies of your resume. Be prepared to discuss your experience and credentials. Also, be prepared to answer the same basic questions that are asked of job applicants, such as:

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

What did you enjoy most about your previous position?

Why did you leave your previous employer(s)?

Remember, the interview is also a chance for you to learn more about the agency. Some agencies may not have work right away. Find out if you should check in with them periodically by phone or via e-mail to receive job updates. Register with several agencies to maximize your chances of finding employment.

There are so many misconceptions regarding getting a job in the US. Every student’s condition is different so you can’t generalize somebody’s success or failure based on two or three experiences.

Firstly, everyone’s experience of getting a job after graduation is different, there are students who get amazing job offers before graduation and there are students who struggle for a job even after months of completing graduation. Then there are people who luck out and get stuck working contracts with staffing agencies. But all these scenarios don’t mean that person A is better than B.

Skill, hard work does play an important role though in deciding when and what kind of job you would get. You can increase your chances by having relevant job experience or having good network in reference companies as well.

But there’s a catch!

This whole process becomes tougher if you are an F1 student. Why? Because IT companies usually don’t prefer foreign students over citizens. Then there is paperwork involved and honestly nobody wants to do extra work. Hiring a citizen instead is just convenient for them. I have seen many talented people struggle to find work where as people that weren’t exactly brilliant got a job in first try. So yea, it’s safe to say that the job market is unfair sometimes.

How can you increase your chances?

If you ask for my opinion then signing up with a boot camp or enrolling in a consultancy would be a smart choice given the current situation of the market. Let me tell you why and share some names for you to make a good decision.

How can boot camps/consultations/staffing agencies help you?

•Some of the camps offer 100% job placement guarantee. Even if there are some chances to not get a job, they are still better than trying to find a job on your own

•You don’t have any industry experience let alone contacts where as these companies have solid grounds with top IT clients so they can get you hired quickly

•They have a professional and experienced team to train you and make you competent enough to get a good job

•They market you effectively to companies where your skills fit so you don’t end up working on something you don’t like

•They can negotiate better salary and long term projects for you that you can’t do on your own being just a student

•You can get adequate training in your field and be more qualified for a job as compared to your peers

Some recommendations: Not every place is the same. Staffing companies don’t provide training as such they focus on getting you a job. Some top names: Peak technical staffing, Randstad staffing, and Balance staffing. Consultations usually help with Visa applications like My Attorney USA and SGM law group. Training camps help you get skilled and teach you new in-demand language. Ironhack, Bloc, Thinkful, SynergisticIT, The Tech Academy, Flatiron school are some top names that students in USA prefer. SynergisticIT among them is actually a Bootcamp and a consultation that trains you and gets you a job with top IT clients in the USA. They are the best programmers in the bay area and you can definitely check them out among other options.

Final words: It’s not easy being an immigrant since you have to work hard, compete even harder and still there are chances you would not succeed. So don’t lose hope if you are unable to get through in your first couple of tries. Just make sure you have the right support and don’t miss any important deadline, be it OPT EAD or H1B etc. Hope my suggestions help.

Every year millions of international travelers flock to Amsterdam, perhaps the most liberal city in the entire world. Nearly seven million inhabitants live in the area, making Amsterdam and the surrounding metropolitan area, collectively called the Randstad, the sixth largest in Europe. While the Dutch of the twenty-first century do not have quite as much international power or prestige as they enjoyed during the country’s 17th century Golden Age, Amsterdam is still by far the most important business and cultural center in the Netherlands.

Hundreds of years ago, the Dutch were pioneers of commerce, seafaring and finance; they basically invented banking as it is known today. In those days, long before today’s economic globalization was even an idea, the Netherlands served as a vital link between continental Europe and the countries of the Scandinavian peninsula. It still does so today, and Amsterdam is still a popular destination for business travel: the Amsterdam Stock Exchange is the oldest in the world, and seven of the world’s top 500 corporations are headquartered here. Along with corporate giants Philips and ING, many of the Netherlands’ institutions and government agencies are based here as well. Amsterdam is also known for its importance to the jewel business; Dutch companies control a substantial percentage of the world’s diamonds.

Arts and Entertainment

In popular culture Amsterdam is best known for its lax laws regarding adult entertainment like recreational drugs and prostitution. For some, the red light district and its numerous cannabis cafes offer romance of a sort, so long as a loose definition of romantic is used. If you visit the solely for these reasons, however, you’ll be missing out on some of the best things Amsterdam has to offer. If you’d rather avoid the more questionable activities, don’t worry, because they’re mostly confined to certain areas. For the more conventional, the city’s quaint, lovingly lit cobblestone streets and its picturesque and historic canal system offer a romantic ambiance to rival that of Venice itself.

This area has produced some of the western world’s most revered artwork from men like Rembrandt and Durer, as seen in the Rijksmuseum. More modern exhibits can be seen in the Stedelijk museum and the Amsterdam branch of Russia’s esteemed Hermitage museum. Vincent Van Gogh, one of the most famous men to ever call Amsterdam home, has an entire museum dedicated to his life and work. Travelers more interested in modern history than artwork would do well to schedule a trip to the Anne Frank museum for a look at one of the darker parts of Amsterdam’s past.

Food and Drink

Amsterdam is home to one of Europe’s most widely exported beers, Heineken, so be sure to pay a visit the brewery if you’re a fan. By all accounts, the Heineken served in Amsterdam’s bars is far superior to versions that have been subjected to bottling and international shipping. The dining options here are nearly limitless; in such a vast city, almost every cuisine of the world is very well represented. Luxurious 4 and 5 star hotels account for almost half of Amsterdam’s lodgings, so there’s no shortage of opulent restaurants for the traveling gourmet. Simpler meals can also be had at the city’s open-air eateries, many of them with breathtaking waterfront views.
