Neil pearts name is pronouced (pe-rt)

His long-time companion and common-law wife Jacqueline (Jackie) died of cancer in 1998.

As a young man Neil was inspired by the Jazz drummers Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. In later years Keith Moon of The Who and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin were also his inspiration.

Back in 1987 Modern Drummer had a contest,drummers had to submit a taped solo performace and the top three Won Neils Candy Red Tama,and the Slingerland Kits from the 70's.The Candy Red Kit has been completely restored to perfection,which it deserved.I don't know what happened to the Slingerland kits and the First Tama rosewood kit.As far as the Ludwig kit and previous DW kits,I would guess he still Owns them.
