During the week before the wedding, the Choson and Kallah do not see each other.
On the Sabbath of that week the Choson is called to the Torah (ufruf), to impress upon the couple the duty to look to the Torah as their guide in married life.
The bride and groom maintain the world by raising children who will busy themselves in Torah study; therefore, the groom is called upon to read the letters of the Torah, which contain the ten utterances of creation.
After his Aliyah, the congregation showers him with raisins and nuts, symbolic of their wishes for a sweet and fruitful marriage blessed with many children.
Meanwhile, on the same Sabbath, the Kallah's family and friends arrange a party (forshpiel) for her, expressing their same wishes for her.
From a few days prior, until a week after the wedding, the couple are considered royalty and are, therefore, not to be seen in public without a personal escort.

From Kaesong to Seoul (the current capital of South Korea), one would have to go south southeast (SSE).
From Kaesong to Pyongyang (the current capital of North Korea), one would have to go north northwest (NNW).
It depends on what you are calling "Korea". The North Korean capital of Pyongyang is north of Kaesong as the map in the Related Link indicates. The South Korean capital (and capital of the Choson dynasty prior to the Japanese occupation) of Seoul is south of Kaesong.

Korean: There are 2 Chinese characters for the surname Kong. One of these is borne by only one clan, the other by 2 clans. One of the Kong clans claims Confucius as its ancestor, the 53rd ancestor of Confucius having migrated from his home in China to Koryo and settled in Ch'angwon, where his grave can still be seen today. The other 2 Kong clans, the Kimhae Kong and the Munch on Kong clans both sprang from descendants of a famous T'ang Chinese scholar, Kong Yun-po. A man named Kong Myong-nye founded the Kimhae Kong clan when he was exciled to Kimhae during the reign of Choson King Songjong in the latter half of the 15th century. The founder of the Munch on Kong clan, Kong Chin-on was banished to Munchon in Hamgyong province during the reign of Choson King Sejong during the first half of the 15th century. Chine: Cheng tang was the first king of the Shang synasty, founded in 1766 ac. Although now known as Cheng Tang, his surname was Zi, and he had a "style name" (given around age 20)of Tai Yi.
