He was born on May 12, 1968 in San Diego, California. His father is Frank Hawk and his mother is Nancy Hawk. Also his father was his number 1 fan, he would drive 100 of miles so Tony could enter in skateboarding contest and would drive him to the skateboarding park for him to practice. He has two sister named Lenore and Patricia and one brother named Steve. When he was little he thought school was a prison as he got older he realized it wasn't. He was kicked out of preschool because the teachers couldn't take it anymore. When he reached second grade he couldn't sit still listening to the teacher so he did exercises. The teacher said "That he has a twelve year old brain in an eight year old body" and his parents discovered that he was "gifted". So the next year he skipped to fourth grade math and English classes and stopped moving. He attended Torry Pines High School, Del Mar, California.He began skating in 1977, his first sponsor was in 1980 when he was just twelve, became pro in 1982 when he was fourteen, and at age sixteen he was the best skater in the world.. Tony Hawk was a troubled kid. He would push himself to do better than he possibly could do and then he got angry with himself for failing. His older brother Steve gave him his first skateboard it was a blue fiberglass Bahne board, and Tony found something that he could focus on, and be good at. Tony stopped being so competitive and calmer when he started skateboarding. Since he pushed himself has now helped propel him to be the world's most recognizable skateboarder today.In 1982 he joined the legendary Bones Brigade team. In 1989 he featured in Gleaming the Cube movie starring Christian Slater. In 1999 Activision releases Tony Hawk's Pro Skater the video game. Also in 1999 he was in the 4th X games and landed the first 900. In 2003 he featured in the 300th episode of The Simpsons. In 2003 he wrote HAWK -- Occupation: skateboarder. Tony Hawk has entered about 103 skateboarding competitions. He has won 73, and taken second in 19. He even won a contest with a redeye and only three hours of sleep. Also have 6 gold medals at the ESPN X-Games. He had many occupations and some were the Launcher of the Boom Boom Huck Jam, Tony Hawk Foundation, Hawk clothing, Birdhouse, and featured in Tony Hawk video game. In 2006 he also appeared in Drake and Josh Go Hollywood. Also Tony sold Hawk Clothing to the company Quicksilver in 2000. In 1991 he retired skateboarding in contest but he still skateboards freely. In 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, gave Tony first MTV Award for "Best Video Game Soundtrack."He got married to Cindy Dunbar and had one kid named Hudson Riley Hawk and he was named after Tony's ancestor Hudson Riley who was the founder of the Hudson River. He was able to buy a house at age 17 and two years later he bought a four-and-a half acres when he built a skateboard ramp, a house, and a swimming pool. His father died in 1995 because of lung cancer. In 1994 his wife Cindy divorced him. Also in 1991 skateboarding died out. In 1996 he got remarried to Erin lee and he also had two kids named Spencer and Keegan. In 2004 Erin divorced Tony. In 2006 got remarried to Lhotse Merriam and had a kid named Kadence.
