There's no reason why McDonald's specifically should shut down. The company pulls in approximately $2.6 billion a year. Financially, they're more than sound. As for health concerns, if you want to say that McDonald's should be shut down because they don't sell "good" or healthy food, then by that logic you'll have to shut down all other fast food restaurants and half the family chain restaurants as well. The company also donates a considerable amount of their proceeds to (RMHC) Ronald McDonald House Charity which provides services such as education, health services and housing to families of seriously ill children. McDonald's is also the single largest buyer of U.S. beef. American ranchers would be devastated over the loss of McDonald's chains.
Quick over view;
While there are negative sides as well, there are many more reasons for the company to remain in business rather than shut down.

McDonalds is successful because part of their business model is each restaurant runs in exactly the same way. They have set it up so that each person that works there can easily come in and be trained in their methods.
