Armenian cuisine includes:kebab or khorovadz which is beef barbq, soujoukh, basterma or yershig, mante, soubeureg, chiy keufe, lehmejoun, gharne yarekh, imam bayende, vartabed abour.........armenians love hot pepper

shawarma & hummus are lebanese foods

(I think the responder below read the question incorrectly.) There's a lot of Armenian food in L.A. and I didn't get very far below the surface but it's fairly close to Turkish/greek. They have different names and slightly different variations but meat roasting on a spit sliced and served in pita-style bread with garlic sauce and pickled turnips was popular in LA. Like a gyro but called shwarma or something (chicken or beef). They had delicious kebabs with chicken, lamb, steak or ground beef. Hummus, yellow and lemony rice pilaf and little yellow peppers too seemed popluar. It's delicious.

Ah, having been to America and having an American friend there is a list...I will name the most popular. Hot Dogs-they are like sausages but cheap and heavily processed from a mix of cow and pigs parts. Hamburgers-they are patties of ground beef VeRY POPULAR in America...they are not that good because they are haevily processed too...like a lot of American foods are. French fries-fried potato wdeges or strips with lots of calories and salt.

I am Armenian, and I know they eat Pilaf often. It is kind of an immigrant food.

i am Armenian too im in 5th grade in an Armenian school in New York. i eat lahmagoun and pilav. i also eat lebne but that's lebenese. btw im western Armenian.
