After brumation, a bearded dragon's beard usually turns black because it wants to mate, and it usually gets hyper and runs around alot. Your bearded dragon can go black due to stress or just to let you know to leave it alone or maybe it feels threatened. I have been told that it does it to shows a dominant side.
I haven't seen much fighting out of beardies but here's what I've seen: it usually starts out with the head bobbing up and down and their beards turning black and puffing out, then some hissing may take place and then they lunge at each other every so often trying to bite and claw each other. It is sometimes a stand off though.
If the neck of a bearded dragon's neck puffs up, it's mad or scared and the neck might also get black:)
