That would be the 'Dermochelys pokemonus'. More commonly referred to as the Blastoise Turtle.
I cannot answer the question above but I can unanswer it by saying the above answer is a joke. There is no such species as pokemonus in the genus Dermochelys, except maybe in the game of Pokemon. The only living species in the genus Dermochelys is a large sea turtle often called a leatherback, Dermochelys coriacea, and it does not have a shell, but instead has a thick leathery skin resembling a shell.
The turtle that has black spots under the shell is a red-eared slider turtle. It is so named because of the red dash that appears around their ears.
a painted turtle
The green sea turtle gets its name from the green-colored fat tissue under its shell. The fat has a green color because the adult turtle's diet consists of seagrass and algae.
yes the shell will grow with the turtle,, but you may be feeding to much ?if its getting to fat
A small Turtle (the midget under a shell)
turtle
Yes a turtle has a backbone, it is partially integrated into the shell carapace.
Let it bask under a UVB lamp.
You should take it to the vet because a soft shell is a sign of shell rot and needs to be treated or the animal will die. But give the shell about a week and see if it is hard and if not then take ur turtle to the vet
The Plastron is the ventral (bottom) portion of a turtle's shell (under the abdomen)The Carapace is the dorsal (top) portion of the turtle shell (over the back)the little polygon shapes on the shells are called scutes.
Turtles without a shell look like a big blob because under that big hard shell it is just mosh... so it just looks like a blob without a shell. I hope i answered Ur question well.
Note: you can't really tell the sex of a turtle until after it's a baby. Male map turtles are about 1/3 the size of their females. Male map turtles have a concave under shell. Female map turtles have a convex under shell.
