The smallest alligator on record is the Caiman. There are a few different species of Caiman, but none get as big as a Crocodile or an Alligator.

The world's largest alligator is the American Alligator (Alligator Mississippiensis), and they usually average out at lengths of 12 - 14.5 FT. However, one specimen measured 19ft 2inches in Louisiana! Hope that helped :)

The record is around 19 feet, but 8-12 feet is more common.
