Anoles are reptiles so stress can be very harmful to them. When stressed they will display emotion through their color patterns. The bad part is the build up of lactic acid in their body. All reptiles' bodies react by building up lactic acid in stressful situations. A long period of time without stress being relieved will eventually kill the animal.
