The sex of a turtle is not determined by its pattern. It is usually determined by the shape of the underside of the shell. A male turtle usually has a somewhat concave bottom shell, while a female turtle's bottom shell is more flat. Another method to determine the sex of a turtle is by the shape of the tail. The tail of a male is usually wider and "stubbier" than that of a female turtle. See link below for further information. It includes pictures demonstrating the differences between male and female turtles/tortoises.
a boy (male) turtle has a longer tail than a girl (female)
y is it so hard to tell turtles apart?
no only female turtles can
If he has long nails he's a boy . If you look underneath his shell (the bottom part) and the black spots at the bottom of it is close together it is a boy. You cannot tell if your turtle is a boy or a girl until it's 10 cm long.
There are some cute turtle names on the websites in the 'related links'. Some things to think about when naming a turtle: What do they look like? Which name best suits their personality/temperament? Remember that even though your turtle might look so cute and tiny and adorable now, your turtle WILL grow so much bigger -will the name still suit it when it is the size of a dinner plate?!?
well a boy turtle has a small tail and girls have kind of a long tail
A boy box turtle.
The opening in the tail and it's proximity to the body. Closer to the body, the turtle's a girl, further out a boy.
You shouldn't have to look like anything. If a boy truly likes you than he should like you from your personality. Just be youself! :) That is what I did and I got the boy that I liked to like me back!!
no he looks like a boy.....some people say he look like a girl but really he is a boy
