after getting swarmed with "seed ticks" yesterday, unfortunately i can answer this. they look like tiny seeds, you know those little black (closer to brown or red) grass seeds that come off on your pants while walking through the woods or grass. but watch closely and you'll see them moving. and eventually they bite down and "ouch". i had about 50 on myself after a run through the woods yesterday and it's no joke. we had to pull each one off with tweezers. today i look as if i contracted the chicken pox.
A tick is a tiny mite. It has eight legs, a tiny head and a larger abdomen and is usually Black, brown or red in color. The tick is an ectoparasitic insect that feeds on the blood of its host. Once attached it is very difficult to remove as the head usually burroughs under the skin leaving only the abdomen and legs in the open air.
Sounds like you answered your own question......They're most likely ticks....
