No, and I would not recommend it as a feeder insect for any other lizard. The chemical(s) that produce light and give the lightning bug its name will make any critter that makes the mistake of eating it sick. It is usually fatal, especially for young ones, and you'll be extremely lucky that your lizard makes it through alive without future complications.
The toxins attack the heart, and symptoms normally occur 30 minutes after ingestion, which can include head shaking, gaping, repeated attempts to regurgitate, difficulty breathing, and a darkening of the skin. After the symptoms occur, this gives you roughly another half hour before death is certain. If you are certain that your pet has been poisoned, contact your vet or a local exotics specialist and get the lizard immediate emergency treatment.
Note: Usually one firefly is enough to kill a lizard.
Anole lizards eat crickets and worms.
Anoles
It depends on what kind of green lizard you have. Ther are green anoles, day geckos, chameleons, Chinese water dragons... Iguanas, which are green, are herbivores and, I guess, would be okay if you gave them a few brussel sprouts; but most green lizards eat crickets, flies, (or for the slightly larger green lizards) baby mice.
Green anoles do not eat cat food, they eat spiders and small insects. They are also known as the red-throated anole.
Common wall lizards eat flies and incests mostly.
no way lizards eat mostly insects smaller than them. like flies and ants.
It depends on what type of lizard. Most lizards eat meal worms, crickets ,worms and sometimes flies
Well not all lizards eat insects. But the lizards that do eat insects usually eat beetles, ants, flies, dragonflies, preying mantis, and much much more insects.
Yes.
y yes they do;]
Lizards are vegetarians, but as they are young they can eat some meat, with out effecting their body's or diminishing their life expectancy, when mine was young i fed it mosquito hawks as a treat every now and then.
Both anoles and dinosaurs belong to the diapsid group of reptiles. However, dinosaurs belonged to the order Dinosauria, and anoles are lizards, which are part of the Squamata order. Therefor, dinosaurs are distant relatives of anoles.
