Although nothing is really known about the life and death of the apostle Andrew, the apocryphal Acts of Andrew provides testimony of the miracles that came to be attributed to him.

In a work typical of some of the hagiography of the time, Acts of Andrew credits Andrew with some extravagant miracles, including miraculous escapes. He survived being placed amongst fierce animals, calmed storms and even defeated armies simply by crossing himself.
