Remarriage is not inherently considered adultery in all situations. It depends on the circumstances surrounding the previous marriage(s) and any religious or cultural beliefs. In some faiths or cultures, remarriage may be viewed differently. It is important to consider individual beliefs and values when determining if remarriage is considered adultery.
Jacob in the Old Testament did not commit adultery. He married two sisters, Rachel and Leah, but it was in accordance with the customs of his time and not considered adultery.
The woman caught in adultery and brought to Jesus is not explicitly named in the Bible.
Technically, adultery is when a married person engages in sexual activity with someone who is not their spouse. If you are not married, engaging in sexual activity with someone who is married could be seen as participating in adultery, but for unmarried individuals, it would not be classified as adultery.
The Ten Commandments condemn adultery because it is considered a violation of the sanctity and commitment of marriage. While men in some historical contexts may have had multiple wives, the commandment is meant to uphold faithfulness and honor within the marital relationship.
to have a marriage annuled is to have the church recognize that it had never really existed in the hearts of those involved. basically, its the churches version of divorce, and if the religion you are allows for annulments, then no, a remarriage is not a sin after one.
The word "remarriage" is not found in the Bible. Although in the days of Moses divorce was permitted by decree, Jesus remarked that God intended marriage to last as long as a husband and wife live. If someone is divorced they are not to marry someone else, as that is considered the same as adultery. Widows are free to marry anyone as long as that person is not married.

The Bible only considers the case of a man divorcing a woman, not the other way around, which apparently was unthinkable. God was certainly not in favor of it, except ('of course') if the woman had committed adultery. The various Bible books almost exclusively deal with female adultery; male adultery was not seen as a solid ground for divorce. As to the prohibition for men to do away with their wives: you have to remember that in the Biblical days a woman was totally dependent on her husband for sustenance and safety, so divorcing her - with alimony a thing of the far future - was like sending her out in the wilderness while dishonoring her family. If we look at the relevant Bible texts, God had generally speaking no problem with remarriage. It was the Catholic Church itself in 1184 AD that pronounced marriage a 'sacrament' and forbade remarriage in church and so, in front of God. Pope Francis today has much more liberal views and recently even officiated at a church wedding ceremony of several couples in Rome, a number of them having been married before. But a Pope's personal convictions and the changing of a 1,000 year old Church law are two different things.
