The Holy Spirit is here to stay. Matthew 28:18-20 shows Jesus talking to His disciples just before He goes back to heaven. And He told them, "Surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age." He is with us to the end. Before He died and left Earth, His disciples asked Him why He had to leave. He said, "It is expedient for you that I go. For if I do not go, then I cannot send the Holy Spirit. He will be another Counselor for you." The Holy Spirit will be with us until Jesus comes to set up His earthly kingdom.
Answer 1
No, He is here to stay until Jesus returns.
Answer 2
Well.... There are a few things that lead me to believe that the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn from the earth. Jesus did promise that the comforter would be here until the end of the age. There are several dispensations in The Bible (periods of time where God deals with His people differently) We are currently in the church age. There is also a period of time called the tribulation. It will last for seven years. During this time the antichrist will rise to power. Many believe that scripture teaches that the Holy Spirit must be withdrawn in order for certain things to take place (such as the great deception that will come during that age) See 2 Thessalonians 2.
No. The Holy Spirit is present with each believer in Christ and will continue to be while there are believers.
Jesus said he would leave the Holy Spirit with the disciples to guide and empower them to continue his work after he ascended to heaven.
No, saying that Jesus was possessed by the Holy Spirit is a common belief in Christian theology. It reflects the understanding that Jesus, as both divine and human, was empowered by the Holy Spirit in his ministry on earth.
Jesus told the disciples that he would send the Holy spirit , to comfort the disciples once he is no longer on earth.
Joel prophesied the work of the Holy Spirit as it occurred in the Book of Acts.
The Holy Bible was written by men of this earth. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit which is the third person of the Holy Trinity.
Jesus,The Holy Spirit, and The Word of God
All disciples of Jesus Christ are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The first disciples on the Day of Pentecost received the Holy Spirit at that time. The Holy Spirit has a manifold ministry pertaining to Christians. Comforter, teacher, empowerer, convictor, witness, helper etc. etc. The Holy Spirit is the same to Christians today as Jesus was to the disciples when He was on earth except the Holy Spirit is not visible and for most Christians a difficult Holy Person to understand because of the "conversation" between The Spirit and our spirit. There are many things the disciples of Christ could not do without the Holy Spirit.
As jesus left the earth he told the disciples that he would send the comforter, in his place to guide and help the disciples.the holy spirit is there to help us.
Say 'I invite the holy spirit in' and the holy spirit will come in
I'm not sure about your question, but Jesus promised not to leave his apostles, but would remain as the holy spirit with them.
The Holy Spirit is sometimes described as a still, small voice. If we are constantly bombarded by the "noise" of life, we can miss it's message to us.We can put ourselves in situations where the spirit can not dwell with us. The spirit is holy, and no unclean thing can dwell in holiness. If we continue purposefully in sin, with no intent to repent or improve, the spirit can leave indefinitely.
