The word "Islam" literally means "submission to God". Good deeds, observing the Koran and behaving in accordance to these things will heighten a Muslim's chances of entering eternal Paradise after they die. For a Muslim, behaving properly includes: abstinence from non-medicinal mind altering drugs, alcohol and pork, donating to charity, pilgrimage, prayer five times a day, fidelity, acceptance of God and fasting during Ramadan.
